February 16, 2011 – Veteran Atlanta-based rock band Third Day helped welcome the 42nd Annual GMA Dove Awards to its home city by helping announce the slate of nominees for this year’s awards during a press conference this morning at the historic Fox Theatre. The multi-Platinum outfit also celebrates four nominations today, with lead singer Mac Powell receiving additional recognition as a songwriter.

The band notched notices in the categories of Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for “Lift Up Your Face,” with Powell’s nod for writing the hit song, Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year for Move, Christmas Album for its work on The Essential Christmas Collection and Recorded Music Packaging for Move.
